Xeomin

Xeomin® is a dermal filler containing botulinum toxin, which temporarily affects facial muscles to prevent contractions that cause wrinkles, creases, and lines. By temporarily paralyzing the muscles, the botulinum toxin in Xeomin allows the skin to relax and smoothen, reducing the severity of the lines and wrinkles caused by repetitive muscle contractions and facial expressions.

Benefits of Xeomin

Xeomin is similar to Botox as both products are produced from botulinum toxin, and designed to treat “dynamic wrinkles” caused by facial muscle contractions. Xeomin offers a few advantages over Botox in that it contains no additives, hence developing a resistance to the product is less likely. Xeomin also provides faster results and costs less than Botox. Like Botox, Xeomin is minimally invasive, provides immediate results, and reduces lines and wrinkles for up to six months with a single treatment.

Who is a good candidate for Xeomin?

Anyone seeking a more youthful appearance may be a good candidate for Xeomin injections. Younger patients find that Xeomin assists younger skin in keeping wrinkles at bay. It also works on mature skin that has lost its elasticity and firmness due to aging and/or exposure to the harsh Colorado elements. If the presence of wrinkles, creases, and fine lines is of concern to you, Xeomin may be right for you.

What’s the difference between botox and xeomin?

Botox®

After its launch in 2002, Botox quickly became the most popular facial treatment, ever. It consists of Botulinum toxin-A, which is a safe, FDA-approved injectable treatment for a number of cosmetic uses. Most notably, Botox reduces specific muscle activity to create the appearance of smoother, younger-looking skin with fewer pronounced fine lines and wrinkles.

Xeomin®

Xeomin is also made using Incobotulinumtoxin-A. The difference between Xeomin and Botox is simply the specific purification and only contains the active protein.

The treatment procedure is exactly the same, and most patients are able to return to work or continue with their day with no downtime immediately after a Botox or Xeomin treatment. If you are deciding between the two, our aesthetic expert will discuss the pros and cons of each, and make a recommendation about which product should work best with your skin, and deliver the results you desire.
